Course content
An introduction to managing safely that makes it clear that managers are accountable for their teams and makes the business case for managing safely- Assessing risks by demystifying risk and risk assessment
- Controlling risks using the best techniques and choosing the right methods
- Understanding responsibilities by examining the demands of the law and the requirements of a health and safety management system
- Investigating accidents and incidents by understanding why things go wrong and how to investigate the causes
- Measuring performance by explaining how checking performance can help to improve health and safety
- Protecting the environment by cutting down environmental impacts
Assessment and certification
Assessment is by multiple choice questions and a Risk Assessment Project. Successful delegates are awarded an IOSH Managing Safely Certificate, which is a nationally recognised and respected qualification.
