First Aid At Work (FAW) Training

Course description

A 3 day Health and Safety Executive (HSE) approved First Aid at Work course, in accordance with the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981.

Who is the course suitable for?

Nominated workplace first aiders, or anyone wanting a comprehensive, interactive introduction to First Aid at work.

What you will learn

This course will give you a more in-depth knowledge of first aid and the confidence to apply this to an emergency in the workplace.

Course content
  • Accidents and illness
  • Using the First Aid kit
  • Simple record keeping
  • Causes and Treatment of the unconscious casualty
  • Chest complaints and Heart Attacks
  • Resuscitation
  • Choking
  • Shock
  • Circulation and Bleeding
  • Burns and Scalds
  • Poisoning
  • Fractures and Soft tissue injury
Assessment and certification

After completing written and practical assessments, successful candidates receive an HSE approved certificate valid for three years.

Duration

3 days (8 hours per day including breaks)
Since 1st October 2009 the FAW course has become 3 day.
