First Aid at Work (FAW) Refresher Course HSE Approved
Course description
This 2 day course refreshes and updates the first aid skills of those who need to renew their statutory First Aid at Work certificate; and whose existing certificate is still valid. First aiders whose certificates have expired must attend the full 4 Day First Aid at Work course.
Who is the course suitable for?
This course is for people wishing to renew their current First Aid at Work certificate.
What you will learn
The course aims to update and refresh your knowledge of the First Aid at Work syllabus, giving you the confidence to deal with a first aid emergency in the work place.
Course content
The course includes an update of first aid skills, through theoretical and practical sessions in preparation for the assessments.

- Using the First Aid kit
- Simple record keeping
- Causes and Treatment of the unconscious casualty
- Chest complaints and Heart Attacks
- Resuscitation
- Choking
- Shock
- Circulation and Bleeding
- Burns and Scalds
- Poisoning
- Fractures and Soft tissue injury
Assessment and certification
Successful candidates receive the re-qualification HSE-approved First Aid at Work certificate valid for three years.
