Course description

This short training course provides students with the essential knowledge and understanding of equality and diversity to ensure that they promote this and treat people fairly within the work place.
This course is presented through a mixture of theory, practical exercises, and group discussions.

Who is the course suitable for?

All staff working in a care environment, so that they understand the concept of equality and diversity and from this they can ensure that clients are treated in a equitable manner.

What you will learn

What Equality and Diversity are and how they are integral to individualised care. What Discrimination is, the types and forms it may take and the steps that can be taken to reduce discriminatory practice. Following this forward, management of a complaint.

Assessment and certification

Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment of the student through discussion and group participation. As good practice, we suggest that this is updated annually.
