A 3 hour course designed to train people to use an AED in a cardiac arrest situation. An AED is a portable device used to deliver a shock which stops the heart fibrillating during cardiac arrest. Getting an AED to a casualty within 3 minutes of a cardiac arrest is essential for their survival.
This course is suitable and recommended for all First Aiders, Appointed Persons and Lifeguards who would benefit from the knowledge and experience of using this lifesaving equipment.
This course will enable successful participants to refresh their CPR and learn to use the AED in a safe and controlled manner.
The assessment will be question and answer based, along with student practice and scenarios. Upon successful completion participants will be issued with a certificate valid for one year.
